Feburary EmpTies

check ya later empty products.....

Love doing empties posts, out with the old in with the new.

Body Shops Coconut Body Butter. Who hasn't purchased one of their body butters at least once before. In LOVE with this smell, reminds me of summer when I was a kind, sunscreen maybe but damn it smells good. As for moisturizing it's not my top pick. These suckers cost around $21, so only purchase these when they have good sales!

Would I repurchase? Possibly if they had a good sale, not for full price.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition is another one I have been suckered into buying quite a few times, usually is around $3 and really detangles my hair without weighing it down. Nothing special but if I am out of my healthy sexy hair then this will do.

Would I repurchase? Yeah I probably will

Lancome Hypnose Drama sample,L'oreal Voluminous Power Collagen and Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes, also sample mascaras.
I am a mascara obsessed maniac. I will buy more mascara looking for the one then one human needs in their life time. I have had the Lancome ones for seriously way too long. But I was kinda saving the tubes for an empties post. They were actually not too bad of products but still didn't beat my L'oreal Voluminous anything mascara.

Would I repurchase? The L'oreal yes! I am in love with most of their mascaras and they are the only ones that give me eyelashes.
Does anyone have recommendations for eyelashes in a tube?

Neurtrogena Acne Stress Control. I don't even know when I purchased this but it wasn't anything exciting, the microbeads are a bit too tiny for my likings. There is 2% salicylic acid in it so if your skin agrees with that then its alright.

Would I repurchase? Nahhhhh

Wen's Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner. Man this stuff is just strange when you are new to it. I watched the infomercial for about ummm 3 years before I committed to the ridiculous prices. This product can make your hair crazy soft and smell delicious if you use it correctly. If you don't then your hair is greasy and weighed right down. The theory of this product is great and I think it's perfect if you don't have a LOT of hair. The amount of product you use is unreal and you would go through more product then worth it.

Have you tried Wen? What did you think of it?

Would I repurchase? Possibly now since I cut off all my hair and this will be much easier to use then on my loooonnnggg hair before.

Well my empties posts aren't as exciting as some of yours out there but I can't afford all those high end shannagins that some of you have!

What is your last empty you had?

February Empties

12:15 AM

This really looks like an empty haul or something but I think I was on the last little bit of a TON of things!
The best part of finishing up all this crap is that I get to buy new stuff =D
Here is what I used up this month....

*Pure Divine $2 at dollar store.
Repurchase? Nahh, this packaging tricked me, I was thinking it was Venus, like the razors but it was just no name stuff. It was alright but I wouldn't repurchase.

*LUSH Snow Fairy- MY FAVORITE!!!
Repurchase?Yes I will one day, when it's on sale. It smells soo good but Lush is just a bit expensive for me to purchase often =/

*LUSH Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub
Repurchase? Nope, This was a gift from my mom and it really took too long to use up, I only finished it up before it expired and didn't like the smell tooo much.

*DERMALOGICA Daily Microfoliant
This is my absolute favorite facial scrub, it's really different because it is a powder that you rub into your face after wetting it. I didn't like the idea at first because it's kind of like using baking soda or something but holy crap does your face feel nice after!
Repurchase? If I wasn't a total cheap ass I would, but Dermalogica is so expensive and it's really only sold at certain spas or salons around here so it's not taunting me to buy like it would if it was at the drug store.

*BATH & BODY WORKS Sweet Pea Body Butter. Surprise surprise!
Love this stuff!
Repurchase? Yes sure will!

*BATH & BODY WORKS Sweet Pea Shower Gel
Repurchase? Probably not, only because I think it's crazy to pay $10 for this bottle, body wash is body wash to me, if it smells good I am sold, and there are a lot of cheaper ones that smell nice.

*JOICO Body Luxe Shampoo
I really do like Joico products, they are cheaper salon options and are usually on sale around here for the 1L bottles so you really can't go wrong.
Repurchase? Only if there isn't Redken on sale.

*GARNIER Skin Natural Fresh Makeup Removing Wipes
Okay so this is kinda cheating... I tried using these up but they kind of dried up since I bought them a million years ago.
Repurchase? Heck no, they don't remove anything from your skin let alone makeup.

*CALGON Epson Salts
Loved the smell of Eucoliptous and Mint but these aren't anything special if you can find a cheaper alternative.
Repurchase? If there isn't a cheaper option.

Thought I was finished?
NOOO I still have more, ridiculous I know!

*BATH & BODY WORKS Sweet Pea Body Butter

*BATH & BODY WORKS Cranberry Cider

*BATH & BODY WORKS Cinnamon Pumpkin

*BATH & BODY WORKS Merry Misletoe

*BATH & BODY WORKS Pineapple Orchid

I would repurchase all of these candles, I LOVE B&BW Candles, they smell amazing!!!

That's the end of my massive empties this month, I think I made a lot of room for my new things =D

What was on your empties list?

Random Drugstore Buys!

6:52 AM

Sometimes I am glad I don't live in the U.S because seriously you guys have such amazing shopping, and for some strange reason I have an obsession with drug stores, I ALWAYS want to go in them and check out what they have! Anyone else?
There are so many more options in American ones too then Canadian ones so my bank account would hate me if I lived there!

These are just some random things I found on sale, I totally believe in buying things on sale rather then full price, and use coupons!

First I was at Shoppers Drug Mart
*GARNIER FRUCTIS Crystal  Resist Hair Spray- $2.99 (  I realized after it is even cheaper at Walmart)
*RIMMEL Scandal Eyes $6.74, I am not sure what the regular price is but it said it was on sale, and I since I have no self control I purchased this!
*GARNIER FRUCTIS Color Shield- $2.99 (again it was like 2.75 at walmart, ops) I know these products aren't cruelty free but I am having a hard time finding decent priced things some days and sadly $ wins sometimes =(  This works really well to detangle my crappy hair and help keep color lasting.
*BATISTE my <3 in Blush -$6.99 totally didn't NEED this but for $3 cheaper then regular and I know I will use it I mays well!

Okay this brush is INSANE! I think it's as big as my hair brush!;) I always think I like massive brushes but I really don't sadly so far I am not loving this. I will try it more and see if I can figure out why I think I like fat brushes but I think its not good unless you have some crazy full lashes which I do not =(

*LIVE CLEAN Sweet Pea Hand Soap -$4.99. Okay this stuff is EFFING amazing! It smells delicious, makes your hands soft and it is free from all that crap that shouldn't be in products we put on us! Cruelty free as well. Very nice soap!
*Lindt Snow Balls- $0.99. Okay who's bright idea was this? Jerkface! I seriously will eat this in like 10 minutes.Sure didn't need these but man are they good!

REDKEN Color Extend $19.99. Okay I am completely fed up of buying a million different shampoo's and seeing my color run down my shower drain. I know there is no solution to completely save your color but I refuse to use drug store shampoo's any longer. This isn't going to stop my color from leaving my hair but I know it works and this bottle will last me for like a year I bet. I still have the conditioner I purchased almost a year ago, I don't use it every wash but every couple I do and they last for so long.

That is all my drug store purchases for the past few weeks. What was the latest you've bought??

Drug Store Haul

1:00 AM

I have been shopping wayyyy too much lately and this is the latest that I have picked up...
I went to a drug store that is newly renovated in my area and I was shocked at all the different brands they had there. Finally NYX is in my city! But still they were out of the jumbo eye pencil in Milk, I swear I will never get my hands on one lol.
I grabbed a few things from Value Drugs/Shoppers Drug Mart & Walmart

*Garnier Fructis Crystal Resist Finishing Spray with crystal minerals-$3.99.This was on sale, I have seen it for up to $7.99 which is ridiculously priced but I have been curious so see if it really did give shine to your hair. I don't love hair spray but I use it often since my hair sucks!

*L.A Colors Nail Polish remover pads-32 peach scented pads-$1.99. I've never heard of this brand before but it is super convenient if you travel at all as well it is a cruelty free product =D

*Hard Candy Glow All The Way Bronzing lotion-$7.98.I have been looking for a replacement for my L'oreal Sublime bronzing lotion since I am almost finished it as well they test on animals DAMN YOU L'OREAL!!! and Hard Candy doesn't so I hope I like this!

*Hard Candy 1,000 Lashes midnight Black, Fiberized lash weave mascara-$5.98-This sounds so weird as well when you open the tube and take the wand out it looks like little hair is on the brush! I have such a BAD memory and should have wrote this down but this is the mascara that had bad reviews and I shouldn't have purchased it! But I will try it and see what I can do with it.

*Udderly Smooth Udder Cream-$1.99.The name makes it sound disgusting to me but this stuff really helps with dry hands and in winter I certainly have that problem,as well for $2 I think it's worth it.

*Jergens Soothing Aloe Relief with bonus Jergens Natural Glow firming daily moisturizer-$3.99. This was on sale, I have seen it up to $8.99 so I thought with that price I better grab it since I have wanted to try it for a few months but wasn't willing to fork out $9!

Almay

Regrets!

6:00 AM

Being a product junkie, most of you know what I am talking about, you always have the risk of buying things that totally sucked or just didn't work for you. Here are just a couple that I could toss in the trash and not care =/

*Nair Shower Power hair removal cream.Sadly I was disappointed in this product, It smelled unbearable to me for the lack of it actually working. I left it on for longer then stated and once I rinsed it off I still had the hair on my legs =( I have no tried it again and wouldn't recommend this one.. I have been reading some reviews on other products they have so I might give something else a shot.
*Neutrogena microdermabrasion system-I was very disappointed in this thing, it was around $40 and it felt like it was doing nothing for my skin as well the little pads it came with felt like there was no product on them and I actually had to use my cleansers with it. I would never recommend this. I would recommend the Olay professional Pro X instead of this if you are needing a cheaper alternative to the Clarisonic.
*Almay Clear Complexion Pressed Powder-I luckily got this from the clearance bin at Shoppers Drug Mart for under $5.. This is a very chalky type powder that just wasn't for me. It doesn't even apply well because it is so dry,its even hard to get on the pad it comes with. This is for sure made for very oily skin and might work well for you if you are needing something to tone that down a bit.
*Maybelline One by One Mascara-ehhh this really didn't do anything for my lashes not to mention it was all clumpy and gross after a few weeks. Did not make my lashes look longer or thicker so I will not repurchase this =/
*Garnier Fructis Extreme Hold Hair Spray-I think I got this for under $2 at Dollarama and I see why it was there.. It isn't extreme hold it should be called no hold as it was like spraying the weakest hairspray ever! I am glad It was so cheap and I wouldn't buy it again

That's pretty much all I got to say about these, I hope if you have tried them you had better luck then me...what is the latest worst product you have purchased?

Garnier Ultra Long-Lasting Shiny Colour Review

10:43 AM

 Garnier Ultra Long-Lasting Shiny Colour
316-Pure Purple
Cost $9.99 at Zellers

I am a huge fan of getting a good dye job from a hair stylist but it just isn't in my budget right now so I have been trying out some box dyes for the past few months. Like I say every time I dye my hair it will not compare fully to a good salon dye but it works for me.
Do you ever just get bored with your look and need some kind of change? I ALWAYS do but I am so lame I don't ever change it up too much. I used to when I was really young but now i'm to nervous for anything drastic! lol. But when I am itching for a new tattoo, piercing or change up my hair color a bit I just have to!
I like dark hair on me the best and I am a little sick of black so this pure purple looked great.

The usual that comes in an at home hair dye kit.
*Gel Creme Colorant
*Colour Releaser
*Shine Enhancing Deep Conditioner
*Gloves

You might need to use:
*Vaseline around the hair line(It seriously helps so much).
*Rat tail comb to section hair
*Dye Brush to brush in the dye(I hate dying my hair with regular dye without this brush!)
*Any kind of clips to help section your hair
*Bad towels is a must! This stuff drips.
*Wear bad clothing!

It looks crazy purple! But I think its really pretty

Processing time is 30 minutes
Applying time took roughly 25 minutes (i'm a little slow with this kind of dye)

I'm not going to lie I didn't like the consistency of this dye. It was so runny! I am so used to using the foam dye that this was kind of dripping all over.
Look how purple it looks! =D

Final look:

NOT THAT PURPLE!! what the heck! This was the best picture I could get in the sunlight to actually see some purple. It basically looks black in dull lighting =/ I assumed that I would be getting the color that was on the box. It even showed the same purple color when you have black hair but it didn't show up much in my hair.
My blogging friend Thisisalx was telling me that this was maybe a 2 tone type dye where you will only see the purple color in the light, so if it is then that would make sense!

Over all so far I do like this dye. My hair wasn't completely straw like after, I did use my K-Pak conditioner after. I don't find the box dye's conditioner all that moisturizing.
I honestly think the mousse/foam hair dyes are the way to go if you are a beginner. They are easy to apply on your own and less clean up. These kinds of dyes are okay if you are a newbie and have patients to be able to section your hair and brush the dye in. I would repurchase this dye as well as recommend it. There are more color selections with this line as well compared to the past mousse/foam dyes I have reviewed. You can read those HeRe and HeRe =)

I am always on a mission to find the best dye within my budget! What are some that you have tried and liked or didn't like?

Batiste

Empties!

7:38 PM

EMPTY!!!

I have read a couple of these hitting pan and empty kind of posts on some blogs and I really liked it so I thought I would do one myself!
I have been trying to use up everything I have had laying around for the past year. I need to get rid of my stock pile of stuff one way or another...

*got2b-Guardian Angel
*Guarnier Frutis -Body Boost Spray
*L'oreal - Volume Mousse
*Biore-warming anti-blackhead cream cleanser
*L'oreal-Voluminous Million
*L'oreal Elnett

*Jergens-Ulta Care
*Secret-Body Mist in Vanilla Chai
*Batiste-Dry Shampoo Original
*Paul Mitchell- Super Skinny Serum
*Olay Quench-Active Hydration

That is as far as I have gotten this month, I will try to keep on using what I can...the more I can use the better, then I can get new stuff ;)
I am actually pretty happy I am using up things that are just taking up space or that were close to being empty but I never finished up.

What are the latest things you have used up?

Garnier Fructis

Products I regret buying

7:39 PM

Here is another post of products that didn't do much for me and I would not recommend to anyone really.

First is the Revlon Color Stay liquid Eye Pen in Blackest Black

I am always wanting to try Dolly Wink's felt tip eye liner but that would mean I would have to order online and I didn't want to do that. When I saw this at London Drugs I was sold! But now I am thinking this isn't so great.
It isn't a terrible product but I don't find it very pigmented and that is my problem. I have fair skin and even this doesn't look too dark on my skin and this is the darkest color you can get. It is easy to apply and the lasting power was pretty much a normal day but the light coloring just doesn't cut I for me.

This was pretty pricey for my likings, I did pay $10.99 so I was hoping for better quality then what I got.

The next two products I have are in the same category... Face wipes! I have been trying to test out brands that are on sale to see if there is anything I like better then my Clean & Clear ones I always use, these two weren't even comparable.

First is the Say Yes To Cucumbers, this was the travel pack for under $3 so it's not much of a loss anyways. I found these too weak for my water proof mascara and didn't fully take off my make up. This wasn't terrible but it wasn't anything much to talk about. The smell is pleasant and the towelettes seem like. They are organic or something as I did feel them breaking apart easily. I would not buy this product again.

Next is the Garnier skin naturals. This has grape water and vitamin e. This vitamin enriched cloths are supposed to removed make up but they don't! After I had "removed" my eye make up I had to do it again with a real makeup removing cloth. I used two cloths and still had mascara all over my eyes. These might be ok if you do not wear makeup and just need to clean off your skin, but for makeup lovers this is not your best pick. Also felt these cloths were really dry and the package was closed do they must not have much moisture. I did blow almost $8 for this and i will never repurchase.

** I am not sure if this is a new product or just new to Canada but this kind just didn't remove make up, their other ones might be better but not this one. My Clean & Clear removes all my water proof mascara in one cloth so they are really good.

That is all that I have for now... Have you tried any of these products or had anything similar to these that you did or didn't like?

I am testing this out on my iPad so if this doesn't post as well that's why. I am using a new app to post this and it's not quite as easy as I have hoped. If you have any suggestions please let me know!

CleanandClear

BUyiNg RAmPagE? I ThiNk NoT!

10:41 PM

For the past 456367 hours I have had the luxury of having the in laws stay with me! Wahoooooo! ;) super super fun and time is just flying by! I haven't even noticed that I haven't got to do any of my normal things I would usually do...like blogging..

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!

I totally have noticed, and it hasn't been 456367 hours, only 6 days but it fricken feels like it!!! BUT if you ever for some crazy reason find out that I have a blog and are reading this I am having a dandy time with you guys staying with us ;) lol.

Needless to say I have made more attempts to go out and do a little window shopping then heading straight home after work, here are a couple things that I have picked up...

Love the Olay Total Effects daily moisturizer. This is my second bottle of this stuff and I really like it. I am not gonna lie it is fricken expensive, regularly anywhere from $22 all the way to $27 if you get it from shoppers! Yikes. This was on sale at Wally World for $17-which is insane yes but I am a little crazy lately so it makes sense ;)

Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent, this one is my fav when it is on sale =) I paid $5.99 for this sucker.

GARNIER Skin Care Naturals, this pack of 20 was $8. This is my first time trying these out so hopefully they are alright.

And Lastly I have heard mixed reviews on this product but since it was on sale for the travel size $2.99 I thought I would try it.
SAY YES TO CUCUMBERS soothing facial towelettes.

Have you tried any of these??

Aussie Hair Spray

Worst Products I have purchased

6:49 PM

Over the past little while I have ran into quite a few ehhh products. They aren't horrible but they aren't great either. Here are my so so products that I would never repurchase...

HAIR CARE

First product that wasn't so hot is the GARNIER FRUCTIS Deep Repair Mask. This mask says the Nutritive micro oils repair and condition damaged hair. The AHA strengthen the core of the fiber in 1 minute! well this is kind of a soupy mask and while the description sounds great, and the smell is great it really did nothing for my hair =/

BIG SEXY HAIR- This picture is kind of bad sorry but I did make myself use this bottle as I rather not waste the product. I got the set of shampoo and conditioner on sale hoping this would provide me with the volume it claims to give you. This really was ehh. Didn't give me any kind of body to my hair or really much of anything.

HERBAL ESSENCES long term relationship-This is is shampoo & Conditioner that is supposed to strengthen hair against breakage and split ends. Well I still had breakage and split ends, didn't help my hair in the least.Herbal essences has let me down pretty much always. I know some people like this line but for someone with problem hair, it wasn't for me. I love the smell of pretty much all their shampoo but that was all I loved.

HERBAL ESSENCES BODY ENVY-The only thing you will be envious is helmet head this hair spray provides. Want matted sticky hard hair?? Well then this is going to be great for you ;) looking for something with hold but movement? This will not help you out.

AUSSIE AUSSOME VOLUME- This is EXTREME HOLD, This sucker was SO STRONG that I only used a couple spray's twice and you know with hair spray the excess goes on your bathroom counter?Well this was so much effort scrubbing it off I couldn't even use it again. How these crazy strong holding hair sprays give volume is beyond me. This is my second Aussie product and it wasn't worth the couple $.

SUNSILK Anti Flat weightless volumizing creme
- This was under $3 at the time I bought it so at least I didn't waste a bunch on it.DID NOTHING at all. It didn't weigh my hair down but it didn't give it any volume.Pretty much useless.

LIVING PROOF FULL THICKENING CREAM- I wanted this to be so amazing so badly! I watched the video on their web site and read tons of good reviews but it just didn't work with my crappy lifeless hair! This is supposed to be body boosting with natural movement for all hair types. Well I guess it just doesn't work on crappy hair types because this sure didn't! I ordered it online too so I paid even more $ with shipping. This TINY 53ml was just over $20 with shipping. =(

LACOUPE VOLUME texture & Root Lift was nothing amazing. This is supposed to plump up your volume with a blend of proteins and botanical extracts to make hair thicker and softer. Ehh. Really didn't notice any difference. And it says it will not make your hair gummy...maybe not gummy but oily if you spray too much.

Too much stuff yet?? My bathroom cupboard agrees there is a tad too much..

GOT2B FAT-TASTIC -  This Thickening Mousse is supposed to give you body and blahh blahh blahh. I find got2b I either love it or hate it. This I would but on the hate list as it really didn't do anything for me.

Have you tried any of these?

SKIN CARE

I have super fair skin, and since I love really like dark hair on me , I sometimes get rude comments of how fair I am. So I try the lotions & tanners to help with that. Unfortunately these ones sucked!

JERGENS Natural Glow & NIVEA Summer Touch-These Smell AWFUL!! I feel like these smell like burning skin with cleaner mixed ( no i really don't know what that actually smells like!) but it is just TERRIBLE!! Some people might be able to stomach the smell but i really can't. The results are so minimal that it isn't worth it.

MYSTIC TAN-Tanning Spray for body & Face. I thought hey this would be a great product to try and the girl at Sephora had all these good things to say about this one... Well maybe if you have a lot of practice with the whole spray tan but attempting to get an even looking tan by yourself not great. If you hold this in one spot for too long it isn't good either. I got away with doing this on my legs but it did turn a tiny bit orangey. Not worth the expensive price tag.. I couldn't find the price on Sephora's web page.. I believe it was around $30.

NIVEA My Silhouette is a gel cream with bio slim complex. This is supposed to help with a more defined silhouette. I didn't notice anything with this product... It has a good smell but that was about it.This was around $10 so pretty expensive for nothing special.

AVON-SKIN SO SOFT. I really love this line by Avon and usually find it is moisturizing but these 2 products really weren't anything great. Just 2 body washes I use when I run out of a good one until I get to a store!

Still reading? Anyone bored yet?? This is the LAST ONE!!

ST IVES-Renew Collagen Elastin has 100% natural moisturizers and is supposed to help with skin's elasticity. I like St. Ives for a moisturizer usually but this one wasn't anything special.

Have you tried any of these and felt the same way?
What are your ehhh products??
