October Favorites

6:07 AM

 LATE OCtober FaVorItes!!!!

I had a really hard time getting this post done.... I REALLY don't like taking my pictures inside since the lighting is terrible and if you have terrible pictures what's the point? If anyone has any suggestions on how to get better indoor pictures please let me know!! I try to take them near a window but I just don't have a good spot in my house and it's been snowy and grey outside all week =( boo!
Anyways my favorites aren't super interesting this month, it is pretty basic but I have been loving these =D

My first Juicy Tubes Lip Gloss in Fruity Pop.
I have heard sooo much about these but just don't want to pay the price so I have never purchased them before. I got this as a freebie with my recent Lancome purchase =D
This pink is one of my favorite colors for lip gloss, this is smooth, glossy and just the right amount of thickness.<3!

It's a 10 Miracle leave in product is amazing for my hair! I love the convenience of 10 products in one so it is quick and takes up less space in my bathroom drawer...you know what that means, more space for other products!
This gel like consistency can make your hair greasy and weighed down if you are not careful of over spraying, I did run into that but you just have to figure out how many sprays to use before it is too many. As well stay away from the roots especially if you have fine hair like me =/

I have really been addicted to skin care products lately and I am on the hunt for the best things that work with my combination skin. I have absolutely been loving the St.Ives Green Tea Cleansers & The Lancome Visionnaire. These two have been keeping my skin feeling clean, smooth and breakout free...knock on wood! My skin decided it hated me for a while lately and wasn't looking it's best =/

I haven't had the chance to wear a ton of shadows this month, mostly only on weekends sometimes but I definitely reached for these two this month the most.
*Wet N Wild-Walking on Egg Shells
*Motives-Foxy Brown
These actually both were from 2 other bloggers but the colors are EXACTLY what I would have picked out! The Wet n Wild are so pigmented for their prices and the colors are such great everyday colors I really love them! I was very lucky to receive these from my good blogger friend Sarah
The Motives shadow was nothing I had ever heard of until my Makeup swap with my other good blogger friend Alx.This shadow is the absolute perfect Matte brown I have ever used! It makes my grey eyes look crazy blue I love it!I think this is very comparable to Mac shadows as well, the pigmentation is amazing and very smooth. Love this!

Okay anyone who does not have a steady hand with gel liners like myself this Elf Angled Eye Liner brush ($1!) is AMAZING! It is my new bff! ;) I have been using this with my Buxom gel liner - Leatherette and it is crazy easy to apply. Doing a winged eye is super easy with this brush, I think it is a must have for everyone!

And lastely with the cold weather and snow we have had =( I am always wanting coffee or tea, it helps keep me warmer! I Love green tea,tea and coffee but I have been super addicted to these teas!

That is all for my October Favorites... What were some of yours?

Products I regret buying

1:00 AM

Here are some products I have been waiting to do a post on for a while just so I had a few to show.. luckily there wasn't too many I disliked.
Some of these might work for you guys but I really didn't have any luck with them and will not be repurchasing.

*Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder-$4 from Shoppers Drug Mart. I was SO lucky I found this on sale in the clearance section so $4 wasn't much of a loss. I have seen these at regular price for around $16! I would have been pissed if I paid that. The packaging is super cute and I have heard mixed reviews on this particular powder but I thought I would try it anyways. Well it was a waste of money, it doesn't do anything for my skin and it certainly doesn't boost my mood. I think the bronzer would have been a better one to buy but I only saw the powder =/

* got2b Fat-tastic instant infusion collagen root-boosting spray-$6 from Shoppers Drug Mart- Sad to say 90% Of any volumizing products do nothing for me but when I see them on sale and the bottle has these amazing claims I usually will give it a try. I am beginning to think I need to just fork out the money for a salon volumizing product rather then 10 drug store ones I dislike. This does nothing for my hair, it didn't leave it greasy or weighed down but it also did not add volume. I will not repurchase.

* Revlon Grow Luscious- I can't remember the price, it was over 6 months ago but I was hanging onto the tube for a post like this. I HATE having gross crunchy hard lashes and this is exactly what it did to mine. They feel like they are going to bust off...not my kinda mascara. It certainly didn't help grow my lashes in any way but maybe I wasn't using it long enough? I hope since there is a new version out they have changed the formula slightly.
*Hard Candy Split Personality Eye Shadow Duo- $7 from Walmart. I really wanted to like this but the application is pretty much terrible and I honestly haven't used it in a while and probably won't =/. You can read my review Here if you are wonder more why I disliked it.

*Revlon Color Stay Liquid Eye Pen-$9-Shoppers Drug Mart. This one was SUCH a waste of money, the only way you get a solid line of color is if you press fairly hard and go so slow! It is not pigmented very nicely and I have since tried the Elf & Fresh Joe felt tip eye liners and they have been amazing! There is a lot cheaper better alternatives out there!Maybe I got a bad tube or something but this wasn't what I was looking for.

What was the last product you purchased that didn't make it to your HG list?

August Favorites

6:00 AM

**** BLOGGER WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO SPACE THIS POST PROPERLY THAT'S WHY IT LOOKS SO CRAZY!!****

I didn't have too many new products for August, I actually tried to use some older things I haven't used in a while and here is what I found myself using most.

Mac Satin Taupe Eye Shadow
This is my all time favorite eye shadow I have ever used! The color is amazing!

Too Faced La Vie En Rose Blush
I have had this blush for over a year and I hardly put a dent in it!
These guys test their products on celebrities not animals =D

Elf Luscious Liquid LipStick-Baby Lips
Mary Kay-Eyesicles  eye color-Vanilla

From my August Luxe Box

Calvin Klein Forbidden Euphoria

That was really everything I found myself loving in August.

What was your August favorites?

Elf

Makeup Forever HD Powder VS Elf HD Powder

6:00 AM

Makeup Forever VS Elf!!

I have heard a ton of which people are liking better than the other so I decided to try it out myself!

"What it is:
A universal translucent finishing powder to be applied over foundation or worn alone.

What it does:
Sets the foundation and slightly mattifies skin without changing its natural contours. This 100% mineral silica powder softens the appearance of imperfections. Completely evens out the complexion for a glowing, radiant look. One universal shade for all skin tones.

What else you need to know:
It's completely translucent and goes on any skintone. Its talc-free formula does not dry the skin and is formulated with 100% silica. Dermatologically tested."

This is a tough one, High end vs very affordable

ekk sorry for the smudges on the containers!

Let's start off with the price:
MUFE is around $25.00 (Sephora's site says $30 right now! But I swear I paid $25ish)
Elf-$6.00
Right there is a massive price range, and can be too expensive for most people. I splurged to purchase the MUFE powder.
Packaging:
MUFE-Small compact jar
Elf-Big gronky container ;)
I do like how small the MUFE is, I feel it's so easy to just throw in your makeup bag without taking up much room.
The Elf package isn't like crazy insane big but it is fairly big. I actually had to clean out my makeup drawer a bit to accommodate this.

You can see the big size difference, much easier to get product from Elf than it is from the MUFE .
But but the large opening on the Elf I do tend to spill it more then I do with the MUFE.

Elf comes with a nice little powder puff, its really soft! Their are a ton of holes in the plastic where a lot of product can come out. It is a lot easier to use a makeup brush with the larger top.

I do like Makeup Forever's design slightly better, less holes = less using too much product! I usually put a little bit in the cap and use my Elf flat top powder brush to apply.

Makeup Forever High Definition Powder
You can see it kind of fills in the lines on my hand in the second picture once it is rubbed in.

Elf High Definition Powder

It does look like the Elf is slightly finer then the Makeup Forever...But I also think it kind of looks like baby powder like...
This is the hard part, I am still kind of stuck on the fence.

They both have a nice silky finish that helps hide the imperfections. I don't notice much difference between the two to be honest. If I had to pick one I would say Makeup Forever.
BUT
I would recommend both! That's right, both. If you have the money I say splurge on the MUFE.  If you can't justify the money on the high end powder, for sure try the Elf!! I have heard only one person who didn't actually like the Elf HD Powder out of at least 20, those are pretty good odds.
I also am happy I do have both since it will last me forever and I can use the Elf for an everyday use and Makeup Forever when I might be going out or something.

What do you think of one?The other?Or both?

This is pretty long over due, but here it is!
I had done a makeup swap with my good blogger from Mercedes in July and it was so much fun shopping for her! July Favorites!!

11:43 AM

Summer is always feeling like it is over when July ends were I live... we haven't had much of a summer and didn't go over 26'C this year which is odd but there isn't much to do in the heat anyways around here =/
Here were my July favorites:

I Absolutely Love this Elf powder Brush, I did a make up swap with Mercedes and she got me this brush =) Thank you so much I LOVE IT!! I also am loving the Makeup Forever HD Powder. It is a light finish that makes my skin look really nice.

Sun Laboratories Ultra Dark Self Tanning Lotion is my love! I have been using this so much this summer since there hasn't been much sun and its much safer then real tanning.
SoftSoap Body Butter Strawberry Scrub-OMG I could EAT THIS!! well not literally but I fricken LOVE this smell!! I smell it every time I go into Walmart and always say noo I don't need another Body wash just yet but last time I caved and bought it... I am glad I did it is so yummy smelling!

This is Elf's Glitter Gloss in Glam Guava (This was another Makeup Swap Item =)  ) It is a very pretty color and not too glittery once applied, no stickyness either.

Okay okay I SUCK at taking pictures,I could not get this to work out in the photo but the color is beautiful! This is Elf's all over color Stick in Pink Lemonade, you can use it for lips, cheeks or eyes and its really pretty! I prefer to use it for lips at the moment.

Elf's Blush in Pink Passion. This is crazy pink but I think its really pretty.. the color looks slightly brighter then when you apply it so its not like WHOA what is on that girls face! ;)

Water is SOO Important especially in the hotter weather. Sometimes I do feel like I need something more then just water so I really like using these Tetley Infusions Liquid Iced Tea Mix once in a while. I am currently liking the Greentea and Green Tea with Mango Flavors. These aren't good if you have them all the time, they are 50 calories each and 12.5g of sugar but it is better then cracking open that Monster I would prefer =)

What were some of your July Favorites??

Batiste

Winners & Walmart Good Crap I got =)

10:45 AM

If you follow me on twitter you might have seen me talking about good crap that you buy at Walmart or Target or where ever you might find it =) Here is what I got at Winners yesterday...

My FIRST ELF THINGS EVER!!!!!!!! I am currently waiting for some Elf goodies in the mail from my lovely blogger friend but when I saw this at Winners I had to buy it! So forgive me if there is any similar in the package you are sending me.. I will use it i promise =)

Elf Summer Ready Best Sellers Collection:

*Eyelash Curler
*Lengthening & Defining Mascara
*Liquid EyeLiner
*Eye Shadow Trio -no color names =(

I found this at Winners and I honestly have yet to find an Elf product anywhere near where I live in Canada.. I didn't even think it was sold in Canada. The selection was small there, just kind of sets like this and their eye shadow books. So this was $9.99 and I am so curious if any of you American  bloggers or readers have purchased this or seen the price of this?

Next:

Everything here is from Walmart except the Joico and Batiste Dry Shampoo.
The Joico was purchased at Winners and I got the K-PaK Reconstructive conditioner just like the one from my other post and honestly these suckers are regularly like $42  or higher at some salons so when I saw this I had to have it. It is a Liter and will last me such a long time. Now the best part about all of this is that it was $19.99! I was stoked so I had to buy it.. then no more hair products for a while =) I am set!
I finally found my Batiste Colored Dry Shampoo in Black. This is usually around $9.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart and at Winners it was $5.99 so I bought 2.

These were purchased at Walmart:

*L'OREAL Ever Pure -Sulfate Free,no harsh salts,Natural Botanicals-It sounds good so hopefully it will be kind to my hair =)This was a little pricey $9
*Next is the usual Clean&Clear makeup dissolving cleansing wipes. I had a $3 off coupon and this was just under $6 so I paid 3 dollars for it =)
*Montagne Jeunesse Mask Apricot Mango scrub - $2
*L'OREAL Total  Repair Night-This ranges anywhere from $4-$7 but it was on for $3.96 and I had a $2 off coupon so it was super cheap!

And my last picture is from my very bestest friend Shari =)
She recently went to the states and she knows what a gumaholic I am and that I love to try every single kind ever!! So she was kind and bought me a few we don't have in Canada.. or not at least where I am living. Thank you =) =)

*Extra Dessert Delights gum-Key Lime Pie Yummy!
*Extra Desserts Delights Gum-Strawberry Shortcake YUMMMM
*Extra Fruit Sensations- Sweet Tropical my FAV!!

Since I have had a couple days off this week and I think I am shopping WAY too much for my bank account =/ so I need to slow down soon on that =(

Have you tried any of these products? What was the last thing you bought that you didn't overly need?
