April 2013 Empties

1:30 AM

I have the biggest pile of empties I have had in a long time so there will another post soon!

*SIMPLE Smoothing Facial Toner
This was a product I found too close to water for me, I think it would probably work okay with super sensitive skin but for my combo skin this wasn't the best fit with me.
Would I repurchase? Negative.

*VICHY Normaderm
I bought this on a whim when it was on sale and I was pretty happy with this moisturizer, while it didn't fix my imperfections it did moisturize nicely without a greasy residue.
Would I repurchase? Yes if the price was good.

*VICTORIA SECRET Pretty & Pure All Over Body Mist
Flipping LOVE this scent. Fruity and girly, my favorite.
Would I repurchase? YES!

*CLEAN&CLEAR Deep Cleaning Astringent
I seriously don't know why I always buy this but I remember my older sister buying it when I was young and for some reason I always buy it since lol. I don't even know if Astringent is the same as a toner but I always seem to use this.
Would I repurchase? Apparently because I have for years.

*JERGENS Ultra Care Moisturizer
This seems like my go to lotion when I am on the hunt at my nearest drug store, I can't say I notice an amazing difference in my skin after using it but the consistency is a bit thicker and I do find it makes my skin feel nice and soft.
Would I repurchase? Yes

*BATH & BODY WORKS Peppermint Mini Candle
YUM! This is one of my favorite scents from B&BW I guess it smells like candy canes or gum but I love it!
Would I repurchase? Yes!

* THE BODY SHOP Coconut Body Butter
Who doesn't love this stuff? It smells absolutely amazing! I think this is way too overpriced but if you catch it on a sale it's worth it.
Would I repurchase? Only if the deal was super good, I don't find this give me any better moisture then my Vaseline Body Butter which is WAY cheaper.

*BATISTE Coloured Dry Shampoo-Black
My LOVE! I seriously need Batiste in my life and wish I could find the coloured dry shampoo around here. I found this once at Winners and I purchased 2 bottles and it was over 2 years ago I think. I have been using this sparingly and finally just used the last of it =(
Would I repurchase? In a heart beat!

*L'OREAL Voluminous Power Collagen
Ahh L'oreal I know how evil you are but yet you are my go to mascara brand. This mascara plumps up my thin lashes and makes them noticeable.
Would I repurchase?Sadly yes.

Those are all the empties I could gather together today, i'm so unorganized it's ridiculous.

What are your latest empties?

My HG Products Part 1

12:03 PM

I have been trying to figure out my most purchased/used products over the past year to see what my HG products are. Here are some of my favorite most used ones....

*CLEAN & CLEAR Makeup dissolving foaming cleanser. Think I have mentioned this much? Well I have tried quite a few drug store makeup removers and nothing removes my waterproof mascara like this. Although this company does test on animals I am still looking for a replacement and I rather use something that doesn't rip out all of my eye lashes. I have tried a few that didn't compare to this products ability to remove my stubborn mascara.
The reason why I think this is super convenient and works so well is because it is a foam, no need for the stupid cotton pads that just add more garbage and don't really get the product distributed all over for easy removal of waterproof mascara. I can apply the foam and let it just hang out for like 30 second to help break up the mascara and the rest is fairly easy to remove. Also NO oil! I HATE that gross feeling.
I am sure there are better makeup removers out there but I haven't found them yet!
Recommendations?

*ASANTI BrightenUp! Okay I wish I could say this was most purchased but it really isn't because of the price. I just can't justify spending so much money on high end products right now in my life, when I win the lotto sure =D
This is what i have received in my Glymm Box in January so it is new to me but HOLY CRAP I LOVE this stuff! I am super picky on facial scrubs that I never ever can find a drug store one that i actually like.
After using this my skin feels amazing, clean soft and non flaky! If you ever get the chance to use this I would for sure recommend it.

*L'OREAL VOLUMINOUS Waterproof.. I hear of love and hate thoughts on this product. I have been using this for as long as I can remember and no matter what I ALWAYS have one of these in my massive mascara obsession to find the best mascara. I find the waterproof formula to be more of what I am looking for since it holds my curl and doesn't rub off easily. The formula isn't too wet or dry but it dries fast enough in between coats to not be annoying. If you haven't tried this I would recommend it. Voluminous gives my lashes length and fullness.

*MAYBELLINE Super stay 24hr Concealer. Wow this stuff really stays on my skin! Fortunately I actually didn't even need to use concealer until this year when my skin just went nuts and now I have some slight scarring. This completely covers it up and doesn't budge. The color matching is really my only complaint. This is slightly off from my skin tone so that is kind of a piss off =/

MAKEUP FOREVER HD Powder. I actually really like this, it does give a mattifing finish so if you want dewy this isn't for you. This helps create an airbrushed matte finish, helps make skin look flawless! I don't think it does last super long and the shine will come through if you have oily skin within a few hours but does anything make anything perfect forever?
I do think Elf's version is very comparable so if you want a cheaper price tag you can try that one and get similar results.

Those are a couple products I know I have mentioned about 1000 times since I started blogging.

Have you tried any of these?

Aveda

September & October Empties!

6:00 AM

For some reason I am thinking that I am missing something but i can't quite remember where I put it...there might be a part 2 to this post!
Here are a couple things that I have finished in the past month or so.

*BIO SILK Thermal Shield-I got this when I purchased my Bio Silk Flat iron as kind of a bonus so I am not sure of the price. This smells very nice. I did like this thermal protectant but I wouldn't purchase this unless it was on a crazy good sale, I didn't find it any better then most of the heat protectants I have used.

*CLEAN & CLEAN MAKEUP DISSOLVING FOAMING CLEANSER-$6 at Walmart- I really really like this, it is oil free, doesn't irritate my skin, I love how it's foaming, it removes my waterproof mascara. I do have another bottle of this that I got for $3 with a coupon! BUT I know Johnson & Johnson tests on animals so it's really not a good brand to repurchase... I am currently searching for a foaming oil free makeup remover that does not rip out all of my eye lashes! Any suggestions?

*AVEDA PHOMOLLIENT STYLING FOAM- $around 20-Unfortunately this did not work for me =/ I am a huge fan of Aveda and would use their products all the time if they were cheaper and more available in my city but they aren't so it's not something I would purchase often =(

*LIFE WARMING FACE MASK-$2- This was a nice mask, it has quite a few uses in it so it was nice to be able to use it for a few weeks randomly. I wouldn't run to the store to repurchase but if I am feeling like I need a face mask I would probably repurchase if something else didn't spike my interest.

*CLEAN & CLEAR MAKEUP DISSOLVING FACIAL CLEANSING WIPES-$6-again with the damn evil animal testing =*( These are the only makeup wipes I have used that remove my waterproof mascara =/ I haven't tried anything over $8 because I am cheap like that so maybe the more pricey ones do a better job? I am wondering how the Soap & Glory Off your Face makeup wipes are like? Has anyone tried them? I am so tempted to grab them but they are $10 and that seems steep for makeup wipes.

Bath And Body Works

Empties!!

6:00 AM

I know I just did one of these posts but I already had enough to do another small one =D

More empties!

*Bath & Body Works Dark Kiss Triple Moisture Shower Cream
*Maybelline the Falsies Flared in Blackest Black
*Herbacin Kamille Hand Cream
*Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent

I probably won't repurchase the Dark Kiss body wash unless there is a good sale, it was pricey but does smell very nice!!

I have already purchased another Falsies Flared since it was on sale for $4 and that is fricken cheap, I really like this formula...I know this is a terrible company for testing on animals as well.. I am trying to weed them out and its fricken hard because good mascara is the only thing that I cannot stay away from =,(

My all time favorite hand lotion is Herbacin it makes your hands crazy soft and does not test on animals =D

Clean & Clear I know you are a bad company for animal testing =/  so I am staying away from you.

What were some empties you have had recently?

Batiste

Winners & Walmart Good Crap I got =)

10:45 AM

If you follow me on twitter you might have seen me talking about good crap that you buy at Walmart or Target or where ever you might find it =) Here is what I got at Winners yesterday...

My FIRST ELF THINGS EVER!!!!!!!! I am currently waiting for some Elf goodies in the mail from my lovely blogger friend but when I saw this at Winners I had to buy it! So forgive me if there is any similar in the package you are sending me.. I will use it i promise =)

Elf Summer Ready Best Sellers Collection:

*Eyelash Curler
*Lengthening & Defining Mascara
*Liquid EyeLiner
*Eye Shadow Trio -no color names =(

I found this at Winners and I honestly have yet to find an Elf product anywhere near where I live in Canada.. I didn't even think it was sold in Canada. The selection was small there, just kind of sets like this and their eye shadow books. So this was $9.99 and I am so curious if any of you American  bloggers or readers have purchased this or seen the price of this?

Next:

Everything here is from Walmart except the Joico and Batiste Dry Shampoo.
The Joico was purchased at Winners and I got the K-PaK Reconstructive conditioner just like the one from my other post and honestly these suckers are regularly like $42  or higher at some salons so when I saw this I had to have it. It is a Liter and will last me such a long time. Now the best part about all of this is that it was $19.99! I was stoked so I had to buy it.. then no more hair products for a while =) I am set!
I finally found my Batiste Colored Dry Shampoo in Black. This is usually around $9.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart and at Winners it was $5.99 so I bought 2.

These were purchased at Walmart:

*L'OREAL Ever Pure -Sulfate Free,no harsh salts,Natural Botanicals-It sounds good so hopefully it will be kind to my hair =)This was a little pricey $9
*Next is the usual Clean&Clear makeup dissolving cleansing wipes. I had a $3 off coupon and this was just under $6 so I paid 3 dollars for it =)
*Montagne Jeunesse Mask Apricot Mango scrub - $2
*L'OREAL Total  Repair Night-This ranges anywhere from $4-$7 but it was on for $3.96 and I had a $2 off coupon so it was super cheap!

And my last picture is from my very bestest friend Shari =)
She recently went to the states and she knows what a gumaholic I am and that I love to try every single kind ever!! So she was kind and bought me a few we don't have in Canada.. or not at least where I am living. Thank you =) =)

*Extra Dessert Delights gum-Key Lime Pie Yummy!
*Extra Desserts Delights Gum-Strawberry Shortcake YUMMMM
*Extra Fruit Sensations- Sweet Tropical my FAV!!

Since I have had a couple days off this week and I think I am shopping WAY too much for my bank account =/ so I need to slow down soon on that =(

Have you tried any of these products? What was the last thing you bought that you didn't overly need?

HARD CANDY-Glamoflauge in light
Maybellin's Falsies Flared
ORGANIX-Coconut Milk
Sweet Pea candle-$5

This candle isn't comparable to the Bath & Body Works by any means but for $5 it does its job!
I have never tried any of these products before other than the Clean&Clear makeup remover cloths so I am excited to test out some new stuff.

What was your latest things you bought that you didn't need?

BUyiNg RAmPagE? I ThiNk NoT!

10:41 PM

For the past 456367 hours I have had the luxury of having the in laws stay with me! Wahoooooo! ;) super super fun and time is just flying by! I haven't even noticed that I haven't got to do any of my normal things I would usually do...like blogging..

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!

I totally have noticed, and it hasn't been 456367 hours, only 6 days but it fricken feels like it!!! BUT if you ever for some crazy reason find out that I have a blog and are reading this I am having a dandy time with you guys staying with us ;) lol.

Needless to say I have made more attempts to go out and do a little window shopping then heading straight home after work, here are a couple things that I have picked up...

Love the Olay Total Effects daily moisturizer. This is my second bottle of this stuff and I really like it. I am not gonna lie it is fricken expensive, regularly anywhere from $22 all the way to $27 if you get it from shoppers! Yikes. This was on sale at Wally World for $17-which is insane yes but I am a little crazy lately so it makes sense ;)

Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent, this one is my fav when it is on sale =) I paid $5.99 for this sucker.

GARNIER Skin Care Naturals, this pack of 20 was $8. This is my first time trying these out so hopefully they are alright.

And Lastly I have heard mixed reviews on this product but since it was on sale for the travel size $2.99 I thought I would try it.
SAY YES TO CUCUMBERS soothing facial towelettes.

Have you tried any of these??

Bath And Body Works

New Products!

4:25 PM

I have a couple new products I am testing and so far so good... here they are :

 * CLEAN&CLEAR Makeup dissolving foaming cleanser. I have been using a lot of clean&clear products lately and liking them. I can't remember who had this in their YouTube video but when I saw the video I knew I had to try this since I do like their eye make up remover. This was $5.99 at Zellers and it is just a foamy makeup removing cleanser. It removes my waterproof mascara so that's all I really care about.

*The next is HARD CANDY'S SHEER ENVY Tinted Moisturizer in color fair.
This is a great product for light coverage, I don't like to have a bunch of foundation on most of the time and this is a good way to even your skin out without much on. I do find it looks a little shiny once it goes on but it does dry matte. I use a little bit of powder after I apply this to even out any shine. This was around $7 at Walmart

*I would try a new mascara every fricken day if i could and I haven't tried much from Physicians Formula but This Organic Wear caught my eye and I thought i would try it. This is a natural mascara without extra added crap. This is free of harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, parabens, fibers and dyes. It claims there is no clumping with this kind of formula. I have used this twice now since I bought it and I am not too sure how i like it.

This is the brush.. It is pretty short and fat so it is hard to get in the corners of the eye and I found it hard on the lower lash line . It has the rubbery bristles on the wand.

The picture isn't the best but I couldn't get my phone to focus really well but you get the idea. This is a fairly Matte black, the color is Ultra black but it doesn't give me jumbo lashes like the package says =/

*Lastly is Bath & Body Works DARK KISS triple moisturizing shower cream. Love this scent.. MY Mama actually bought me this too.. and I love it, it is super thick and leaves your skin feeling soft with such a nice scent =)

Do you have any new products you have recently bought that you are loving?

Body Shop

*SkIn CaRe*

7:21 PM

I could use a million different skin care products, and I usually only buy drug store products as high end ones are too much $ for this girl. I have pretty basic boring skin (which is a good thing I suppose) It is fair and not too sensitive so I don't have to be picky picky with what I try out. As usual I have way too many products that I find on sale and want to try so I have quite a lot to show, here are just a few that i regularly use.

A few of these are repeats from previous blog posts but I will just quickly mention them

I found a few good sales at Shoppers Drug Mart and Olay was the culprit!I got like 3 or 4 different Olay products for around $4 each, it was a crazy good sale so I had to stock up.

(info from left to right)

-First item is Olay dual action cleanser + pore scrub-this is just a slight scrub so it is good for everyday use

-Next is my new luv, this is the Body Shop Seaweed deep cleansing facial wash that i use with my "cheapo's Clarisonic" .Love this with the Toner after wards then the mattifying cream/gel moisturizer as well for  light moisture for your face, great for oily skin!

I am still liking the Clean & Clear make up removing wipes. Great price for how well they work, I usually get them for around $5.00 at Superstore

-The Loreal go clean 360 I had bought a few months ago and it was pretty pricey but lasted quite a long time. I used that almost everyday and it had a very pleasant apricot smell-way better then the St. Ives smell. The bottle is so empty that the picture didn't look very good close up =/

-Then if I ever am need a STRONG acne fighting product this is the one that will dry your skin right out!Clean & Clear Persa-gel 5, I believe I paid around $11.00 for this but it will last forever as I am lucky I don't have to use it very often. But this will dry out any spot you need to use it on. It's not a miracle worker but it really helps! If you have sensitive skin I wouldn't recommend this as it can leave my skin red where I have applied it if I used too much.

-I don't know if it is just me but I always loved the smell of Noxema and when I saw these Anti-Blemish Pads I picked them up. I think these are great for someone who just needs a quick wash on the face with out needing a sink or water... or if you are just feeling a little lazy ;)

-Lastly I decided to give this Gariner Ultra-Lift (since I am getting Old and wrinkley =(  ) a shot, I think that Gariner is a really good affordable line for anyone who doesn't want to break the bank on products. I have been using this little tube for probably 2 months now, everyday and still have 3/4 left if not more. It doesn't do anything super magical but I would recommend it for a cheaper then the Olay version one.

And I don't actually use all of this everyday, this is just EVERYTHING that I have that I rotate and use random ones on different days, just depends what I feel like using that day =)

Does anyone ever use an aspirin mask? I think I was one of the couple ppl out there who had never heard of it before... in case you are the other person here is a quick blurb about it!

What you need:

Some Aloe Vera Gel (optional)

And good Old Aspirin

And lastly a couple (literally) a couple drops of HOT water!
I use a Styrofoam plate, put 2 or 3 aspirin's on it, put 2-4 drops of hot water, depending on how thick you want it.
Then a pump or so of Aloe.
Then apply to face (this works as an scrub as well)
Only let sit for a couple minutes so it won't irritate your skin.
Why would anyone want to do this you ask?-that's what I thought til i tried it!Aspirin is  a form of Beta Hydroxy Acids or BHA’s.Are found in many skin creams and work by exfoliating the dull, dead layers of skin, revealing fresh new skin underneath. Over time, BHA’s can help clarify skin tone and promote healing of blemishes.
Excuse the ugly ass plate but I don't overly want to use my plates I eat off for something I wash my face with haha. So this is what it will look like :
Looks pretty gross but it helps reduce redness and your face is crazy soft after!!

What do you use for skin care products? Anything you would recommend or huck in the garbage?

Calgon

NeW ProDucts/Hits/Trash

8:30 PM

Some Random things worth checking out or leaving behind in the store...

Spending anywhere from $100-$150 or whatever your hair stylist charges isn't always an option... I have been a bit more broke lately so I have to skip the salon again for a couple months =/ This by all means will never replace a good hair stylist but when you are wanting to save a lil bit of cash this will help! I haven't tried this foam dye yet, I will use it this weekend and let the one person who reads this know how it goes ;) but i did watch a video on the Clairol web site and it looked super easy! This is Clairol's nice'n easy foam in black. This box was only $6.00 at my fav-Walmart.

My second new product is the got2b powder. I have tried a couple of these salon ones that can cost up to $25 a bottle which is both of the 2 passed ones were smaller then this bottle! This powder is awesome if you need to save some money on products. I don't think it is as strong as some salon powders but I really like this product for some texture or body to fine hair! Def repurchase. I got this for $7.00 at Shoppers Drug Mart.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this lotion-mostly based on smell, it is Marshmallow body cream by Calgon. I could honestly eat this stuff if it didn't taste so terrible. The smell is strong and sweet, moisturizing wise it is pretty lame. But you can put it over top and use it like a perfume. I like the pump style tube too.My sister and I both grabbed this when we were at Walmart for around $6.

Anyone who likes a good hair spray will enjoy this product- Loreal's Elnett hair spray is a "strong Hold" but will brush right out, so it is not your typical strong hold hair spray. I am not a big fan of the smell, its kind of older hair spray kinda smell but i really like this hair spray! I bought this lil guy for $6 at Walmart for my Vegas trip and am still loving it!

I have been testing eye make up removers lately and i am having a hard time finding a good one for a decent price, so if anyone knows of any let me know! This is Clean & Clear's eye make up remover. It isn't amazing but for a drug store product around $7 is does the trick. It is gentle on my eyes and removes most waterproof mascara without the awful stinging or oily feeling.

Who is looking for a painful STINGING your eye solution to remove make up with lots of elbow grease needed? Well you are in luck because Cover Girl has shoved all that in this bottle for only around $5. If you enjoy burning eyes for hours after you have used this product then you will love this! ;) haha this stuff was brutal!! I read some reviews on make up alley and had read the stinging eye thing and i thought well maybe their eyes were open or just sensitive.. Well my eyes were closed and are not easily irritated.. but this sure did it for me! just terrible. never ever get this!Do yourself a favor and leave it on the shelf!

Have a big bottle of perfume you want to throw in your purse but it is too big to cart around? this is the PERFECT solution.. I got this for x-mas actually and LOVE it! This is the Travalo I watched the video on Andrea's Choice 's YouTube channel and I needed it after I watched it. You just take the little spray part off your perfume and put this on the tube and pump a few pumps, no mess, no spills or wasted perfume. I haven't tried to change the perfume in it so i don't exactly know how you would clean it out but for $10 you could buy another one for a different perfume. My boyfriend got this at Shoppers Drug Mart for me =) .Yes yes I agree it does look like a tampon haha.

Here is a quick video on it if you are curious:

This is my last thing I wanted to show you guys,My lil voodoo Doll- I have had this little guy since X-mas as well, my mom bought it for me and just in case anyone is questioning if i am some weirdo that does voodoo things-i'm NOT! This is just a cute little guy who is supposed to actually bring you luck if you hang on to it or give it to a friend. I put him on my key chain hes so cute! My mom got this at DeTox ( it is similar to Hot Topic in the States) When i was in a CVS i Believe in Vegas they had tons of these!! I wish I would have picked up a couple more =/
