Cover Girl Nature Luxe Silk Foundation Review

6:00 AM

Okay Okay!!I admit it I said I would NEVER buy a Cover Girl Nature Luxe product again after the total fail of their Mascara and me not getting along. BUT I swear I have a good excuse!
I was watching Saaammage's review on this foundation and it made me so curious! She has really good taste and I find I do tend to like a lot of things she likes so I thought maybe just MAYBE this might be better then I had originally thought.AND it was on sale for $9.99 plus I had a $2 off coupon so eh why not right?
I have never ever really found a foundation that I really liked, I actually don't wear it really ever.....

Redefine luxury with our lightweight feeling silk foundation. Enriched with hints of natural jojoba, rosehip & seal buckthorn extracts.

Purchased at London Drugs $9.99 - $2 coupon
I think $7.99  is very reasonable since this will last me forever!

The packaging is alright, the same as all the other Nature Luxe products. I like the squeeze tube, a pump would be ideal of course but the price would go up.
I also like the slim packing, easier to store.
Of course glass container types always look nicer but again the price goes up and this can just fit easily in my makeup drawer.

I purchased this in 310-Flax. Second lightest shade =( . They do have a fair amount of shades to offer compared to some of the other foundations I have seen.

You can really smell the cucumber scent and I actually really like it. Not over powering and once applied you don't notice the smell.

Okay I think I take the picture too close because this just makes my hand look all wrinkly and old! lol. But this formula is seriously so light and it blends like a dream!

I find this a little bit more then a light foundation, more towards medium but you really don't notice you have it on. You don't need a ton, it blends so nicely! I don't notice a huge difference in lasting power compared to other drug store foundations I have tried, honestly I find that nothing stays on my face all day even with primer. I would say the lasting power is alright, nothing amazing, nothing terrible.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good drug store foundation, I think this does even out skin tones nicely and it can't be any worse then most of the crap on the shelves these days.

Don't forget to order your $2 coupon Here (for Canada.. There is a USA one too I believe but since I don't have an account I couldn't find it)

Have you had a chance to try this foundation?

Most reached for Eye Shadows

6:00 AM

Please forgive the picture, it is 9pm and it is dark dark outside!! So I had to use my flash and the color is a bit off =/

ahh cat hair again on my naked palette! ops =/

When it comes to everyday shadows(When I use them) I am very neutral and like mostly browns so a lot of my shadows are similar colors but I feel like I can never have enough brown eye shadows!

Here are my top ones I love to use:

*Urban Decay Naked Palette - ( Of course!)
*Cover Girl Eye Enhancer in Tapestry Toupe- (I have had this forever!)
*Cover Girl Eye Enhancer in Swill Chocolate- (Also an oldy)
*Wet n Wild Color Icon in Nutty (Best $2 shadow ever!)
*Hard Candy Baked Eye Shadow Duo in Baked (Nicely pigmented for $5 Shadow!)

What is your most used color & Brand for everyday eye shadow look?

Cover Girl Nature Luxe Mousse Mascara

6:00 AM

Cover Girl's Nature Luxe Mascara Made with a touch of Bee's Wax, with this light weight formula this is able to give your lashes easier lift then most mascara's.
Sounds interesting doesn't it?

"Discover luxurious volume that feels light as air. We took out a select few heavy synthetics and put in a light touch of beeswax - for luxurious lashes that are 20% lighter*. 2X more volume!"

From the packaging, it just looks like another Nature Luxe product.. It's nice but nothing too special.

This is quite new to Canada, with that comes the price of $10.99. I paid $11 for mascara! Wow what was I thinking? I never ever pay that much but I was very interested to see what this formula might be like.

The brush is a cool green color, and looks very spiky!!

I think the type of brush helps the mascara from getting all clumpy on the brush

Okay BEWARE!!

I don't know why but I just find this picture creepy looking lol. This is my attempt to catch the outcome of the mascara..This is 2 coats PLUS It is cheating a little bit, but I put a waterproof top coat of L'oreal's voluminous as I always do no matter what. As well my lashes are curled in this picture. It might look like it's ok mascara but my lashes are decent in length just not volume, which you can see in the picture.

Overall I wouldn't purchase this mascara again. Here are a couple reasons why:

*The brush is so sharp, if you think the L'oreal Million Lashes is a pointy brush, then I wouldn't advise you to use this. I don't find that one to poke me but this one sure did. Bristles are very sharp on the end
*Did not give my lashes ANY volume what so ever.
*Price was too expensive for what the outcome was.

Now for the good parts

*Not clumpy
umm that's all I got =/

This isn't terrible, I have tried way worse before but I think my expectations were a little bit high since it sounded like a different kind of mascara that might do wonders for my lashes.I haven't actually found a Cover Girl mascara that I like, maybe they just don't work with my type of lashes?
I say wait for a sale if you are really interested in trying this.

Would I repurchase? Nope
Would I recommend? No

Have you had a chance to try this yet? Or hear any reviews on it?

SaturDay ShopPing!

12:04 PM

What are Saturdays best for? Hanging out?Sleeping?Shopping?

All of the above but I decided I would go shopping this Saturday and picked up a few things and here's what I got!

I was in need of some new jeans that weren't three inches too long dragging everywhere and i found some! We recently just got a Boathouse in my city and I really am loving that store. It's kinda like a wanna be "skate shop" I used to always hate stores like this and always liked the real skate shops buttttt my city sucks for them so Boathouse is pretty good.
*Harlow Fiona Flare Fit-$49.99-This was a little more $$ then I usually spend on jeans but they are super comfy!
*Harlow Riley Flare Fit-$39.99
*Volcom Black & Pink Hoody- this is INSANE btw lol I haven't bought a hoody for this price in YEARS!!! $69.99 yikes..but I really liked it!
*Atticus Shirt-$9.99,regularly $24.99 - From D-tox
*BW Shoes-$15.99 regularly $44.99 from Shoe Warehouse

I am a pretty casual dresser, and had been stuck in officey clothes for the passed 2 years so it was nice to buy some regular clothes for a change.

Next we went to Shoppers to kill some time before our last stop....

I am such a sucker for sales and find it so much more justifiable to purchase some things when they are like 50% off

*Crest 3D White Tooth Paste-$3.99, regularly $5.99
*Scope White-$2.99 Regularly $5.99
*Noxzema Cleanser in a travel size-$2.99
*Cover Girl Nature Luxe Mascara Mousse in Very Black-$9.99-Pricey!! but I wanted to try it out since it is new..not impressed so far =/
*Rimmel The Max Volume Flash in Extreme Black-$4.99-regularly $7.99

Okay now for the fun part!!!
We popped into Dark Day Tattoo & Piercing and decided hey lets get something pierced...

I had my ears pierced when I was little but one of them got ripped out and i had to get my ear lope stitched up and never got them repierced...

There it is! It actually kind of hurt, I think it was from it being pierced on the scar.
It was weird to have them done now because when I was like 5 they used a dirty ass gun to pierce it and they put studs in-I guess maybe because I was 5?
My friend got one on her ear, upper ear on the inside, I don't even know what it was called =/ but it looks really good!

That was my Saturday....what did you do?

These are always really interesting to read and I have always wanted to do one since I started blogging but I forgot to when I went to Vegas. My Trip was super mini but here is what I brought in my makeup bag:

I was in a hurry packing, last week was too busy for my likings so this is what I threw together. (I forgot my blush/bronzer brush hah)

*My Urban Decay Naked Palette of course
*Benefit's High Beam
*Urban Decay Primer Potion
*ELF Lip Gloss in Trend Setter (My new fav)
*L'oreal Million Lashes
*Cover Girl Classic Clean Pressed Powder
*Hard Candy's Fox In a Box
*Prestige Eye Liner in brown (My HG Eye Liner)

I ended up not really using anything but my Mascara and my powder as usual but I thought just in case I need something and don't have it.

What is an item that you will never travel without?

My Sumer Must Haves

6:25 AM

This is probably really late for summer but honestly this is like the first REAL weekend of summer that I've had this year, how strange considering the summer is almost over =/

But here are some of my must haves for summer :

I am more of the lip gloss&Mascara kind of girl. I ALWAYS have both of those on 90% of the time. I do use a powder most of the time but once in a while I will use foundation. When it is actually summer and my skin isn't hating me I will just use Cover Girl's basic powder so there isn't too much exciting going on in the picture for some of you but this is what I stick with..

*Batiste Dry Shampoo in Black
*Nivea Essientail Care
* Johnson & Johnson Baby Lotion-It smells amazing!!!
*Chi Silk Infusion
*L'oreal Voluminous Water Proof Mascara
*Aussie 3 Minute Miracle deep conditioner
*Cover Girl Clean Pressed Powder
*Escada- Marine Grove
*Annabelle Bronzer
*Neutrogena Utlra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen. Uva/uvb protection
*Aloe Vera Gel just in case I get lobster like =/

What are your top 3 must haves for summer? ( I might be missing out on something!)

Joe & Shoppers Drug Mart Mini Haul

9:38 PM

I have been eying the products at SuperStore from the line Joe for a while now and I haven't actually bought anything that comes to mind from this line, but always wanted too. I haven't been at SuperStore for a while but I had to run in there the other day and here is a couple things I picked up to try.

The picture is a little crappy but it was a nice set up.There were too many ppl in my way!

I forgot to mention that Joe is a Canadian line, it was created by Joseph Mimran who also has developed many successful fashion labels including Alfred Sung, Club Monaco and Caban, and he contributes to the Pink Tartan clothing collection.

*Joe Lip Stain - Sheer Pink-$6
*Joe Fine Tip Liquid Liner -Black (I have tried to get this for months and months and they actually had it in stock I was really surprised)-$6
*Joe Lip Gloss in Fresh Glass- $6

They aren't overly expensive for make up products and I have heard positive things from different reviews so we will see how they are!

Bath And Body Works

April Favorites

9:04 PM

APRIL IS OVERRRRR-well almost. I swear as you get older time freakin flys by and everything is on a time crunch to fit everything in!
So with the end of April almost here, here is where I blew some of my $$$ =)

I cannot believe this is my first product, and I have had it in my blow before when I did my mascara review but I wasn't a major fan..well I finished that tube and on to the second one. This month I am really liking the MAYBELLINE FALSIES in blackest black of course. The only thing I am not a fan of is I find it so  wet, so it takes longer to dry of course.

I have used LIP SMACKERS my whole life, I swear I was born with lip gloss in my hands! I have tried every flavor out there! I actually didn't buy it for a little white since I like the Bath & Body Works lip glosses just as much. But sometimes I like to pick these up. This one is peach and if you like the candy fuzzy peaches you will love its, it smells amaaaaaaaaaaazing!!So Amazing I secretly want to eat it!! but then I remember hey this is lip gloss not food, you will eat fuzzy peaches instead ! =)

Drug Store Eye shadow! COVER GIRL isn't my favorite drug store product in anyway shape or form but I do like some of their shadow's. I am a fan of anything brown or any neutral's really. This is Cover Girl's Shimmering Sands trio shadow. This is a great cheaply priced shadow for everyday colors. I believe this was under $8.

Bath & Body Works!!As per usual =) DARK KISS is my new obsession and this is their body lotion with vitamin e, jojoba & shea butter to help keep your skin not only smelling good but looking good.

Need something yummy smelling for your house? I decided to try the mini candle from BATH & BODY WORKS in Seaside Escape. This is different then what I regularly pick and I love it, it is a seaside smell  ;), its very pretty! I might even have to buy the full size when they have a sale again.

And that is my April Fav's, what were yours this month??

Calgon

NeW ProDucts/Hits/Trash

8:30 PM

Some Random things worth checking out or leaving behind in the store...

Spending anywhere from $100-$150 or whatever your hair stylist charges isn't always an option... I have been a bit more broke lately so I have to skip the salon again for a couple months =/ This by all means will never replace a good hair stylist but when you are wanting to save a lil bit of cash this will help! I haven't tried this foam dye yet, I will use it this weekend and let the one person who reads this know how it goes ;) but i did watch a video on the Clairol web site and it looked super easy! This is Clairol's nice'n easy foam in black. This box was only $6.00 at my fav-Walmart.

My second new product is the got2b powder. I have tried a couple of these salon ones that can cost up to $25 a bottle which is both of the 2 passed ones were smaller then this bottle! This powder is awesome if you need to save some money on products. I don't think it is as strong as some salon powders but I really like this product for some texture or body to fine hair! Def repurchase. I got this for $7.00 at Shoppers Drug Mart.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this lotion-mostly based on smell, it is Marshmallow body cream by Calgon. I could honestly eat this stuff if it didn't taste so terrible. The smell is strong and sweet, moisturizing wise it is pretty lame. But you can put it over top and use it like a perfume. I like the pump style tube too.My sister and I both grabbed this when we were at Walmart for around $6.

Anyone who likes a good hair spray will enjoy this product- Loreal's Elnett hair spray is a "strong Hold" but will brush right out, so it is not your typical strong hold hair spray. I am not a big fan of the smell, its kind of older hair spray kinda smell but i really like this hair spray! I bought this lil guy for $6 at Walmart for my Vegas trip and am still loving it!

I have been testing eye make up removers lately and i am having a hard time finding a good one for a decent price, so if anyone knows of any let me know! This is Clean & Clear's eye make up remover. It isn't amazing but for a drug store product around $7 is does the trick. It is gentle on my eyes and removes most waterproof mascara without the awful stinging or oily feeling.

Who is looking for a painful STINGING your eye solution to remove make up with lots of elbow grease needed? Well you are in luck because Cover Girl has shoved all that in this bottle for only around $5. If you enjoy burning eyes for hours after you have used this product then you will love this! ;) haha this stuff was brutal!! I read some reviews on make up alley and had read the stinging eye thing and i thought well maybe their eyes were open or just sensitive.. Well my eyes were closed and are not easily irritated.. but this sure did it for me! just terrible. never ever get this!Do yourself a favor and leave it on the shelf!

Have a big bottle of perfume you want to throw in your purse but it is too big to cart around? this is the PERFECT solution.. I got this for x-mas actually and LOVE it! This is the Travalo I watched the video on Andrea's Choice 's YouTube channel and I needed it after I watched it. You just take the little spray part off your perfume and put this on the tube and pump a few pumps, no mess, no spills or wasted perfume. I haven't tried to change the perfume in it so i don't exactly know how you would clean it out but for $10 you could buy another one for a different perfume. My boyfriend got this at Shoppers Drug Mart for me =) .Yes yes I agree it does look like a tampon haha.

Here is a quick video on it if you are curious:

This is my last thing I wanted to show you guys,My lil voodoo Doll- I have had this little guy since X-mas as well, my mom bought it for me and just in case anyone is questioning if i am some weirdo that does voodoo things-i'm NOT! This is just a cute little guy who is supposed to actually bring you luck if you hang on to it or give it to a friend. I put him on my key chain hes so cute! My mom got this at DeTox ( it is similar to Hot Topic in the States) When i was in a CVS i Believe in Vegas they had tons of these!! I wish I would have picked up a couple more =/
