Bath And Body Works

April 2013 Empties

1:30 AM

I have the biggest pile of empties I have had in a long time so there will another post soon!

*SIMPLE Smoothing Facial Toner
This was a product I found too close to water for me, I think it would probably work okay with super sensitive skin but for my combo skin this wasn't the best fit with me.
Would I repurchase? Negative.

*VICHY Normaderm
I bought this on a whim when it was on sale and I was pretty happy with this moisturizer, while it didn't fix my imperfections it did moisturize nicely without a greasy residue.
Would I repurchase? Yes if the price was good.

*VICTORIA SECRET Pretty & Pure All Over Body Mist
Flipping LOVE this scent. Fruity and girly, my favorite.
Would I repurchase? YES!

*CLEAN&CLEAR Deep Cleaning Astringent
I seriously don't know why I always buy this but I remember my older sister buying it when I was young and for some reason I always buy it since lol. I don't even know if Astringent is the same as a toner but I always seem to use this.
Would I repurchase? Apparently because I have for years.

*JERGENS Ultra Care Moisturizer
This seems like my go to lotion when I am on the hunt at my nearest drug store, I can't say I notice an amazing difference in my skin after using it but the consistency is a bit thicker and I do find it makes my skin feel nice and soft.
Would I repurchase? Yes

*BATH & BODY WORKS Peppermint Mini Candle
YUM! This is one of my favorite scents from B&BW I guess it smells like candy canes or gum but I love it!
Would I repurchase? Yes!

* THE BODY SHOP Coconut Body Butter
Who doesn't love this stuff? It smells absolutely amazing! I think this is way too overpriced but if you catch it on a sale it's worth it.
Would I repurchase? Only if the deal was super good, I don't find this give me any better moisture then my Vaseline Body Butter which is WAY cheaper.

*BATISTE Coloured Dry Shampoo-Black
My LOVE! I seriously need Batiste in my life and wish I could find the coloured dry shampoo around here. I found this once at Winners and I purchased 2 bottles and it was over 2 years ago I think. I have been using this sparingly and finally just used the last of it =(
Would I repurchase? In a heart beat!

*L'OREAL Voluminous Power Collagen
Ahh L'oreal I know how evil you are but yet you are my go to mascara brand. This mascara plumps up my thin lashes and makes them noticeable.
Would I repurchase?Sadly yes.

Those are all the empties I could gather together today, i'm so unorganized it's ridiculous.

What are your latest empties?

Aveeno

Products I Regret Buying

1:30 AM

Products meet my garbage can!

*L'OREAL YOUTH CODE
*AVEENO Active Naturals
*SIMPLE Soothing Facial Toner
*GARNIER Skin Renew B.B Cream

Hmm Where to start....
Oh I KNOW! The biggest disappointment...

Claims: Discover an innovation inspired by gene science.
This powerful daily moisturizer helps replenish skin's moisture barrier so it regains the qualities of young-looking skin. Skin looks rested, smoother and youthfully luminous.

Reality:I had high hopes for this and since I have seen enough adds for it I was thinking okay maybe this might be freaking awesome.Basically this felt like sunscreen. I guess with the whole 30spf I should have known better. I did not notice any extra moisture to my skin, no younger looking skin and it just felt too greasy. This product did not absorb nicely in my skin and I am not a fan. I did purchase this for like $4.00 on clearance so luckily there wasn't much money wasted on this one. I just wouldn't recommend this to anyone with oily to combo skin, or anyone with a face. :p The only pro I can think of for this is the pump, gotta love products that actually have a pump!

Claims:This naturally nourishing lotion contains Natural Colloidal Oatmeal blended with rich emollients and is now proven to help skin build a "moisture reserve," so skin can replenish itself. Its fast-absorbing formula helps prevent and protect dry skin, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and naturally healthy looking. It's fragrance free, non-greasy, noncomedogenic and gentle enough for everyday use - good for sensitive skin.

Reality: Sounds pretty nice hey? Welllll we've all seen the Aveeno commercials and I did think okay fine I will give it a try especially since it was a travel size what harm is it? I purchased this for my tattoo that I had gotten in the summer thinking since its fragrance free, noncomedogenic it would be a great moisturizer for it. WRONG it burned like a mother fucker! I had to wipe it off and use my jergens instead. Okay okay maybe this isn't meant for new tattoos but if Jergens is I would think Aveeno would be. I did randomly use this but it didn't have any major pros.

Claims:Our Soothing Facial Toner leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed, plus it's a perfect blend of our purest possible skin loving ingredients with an added vitamin.

Reality: You know when you rinse your skin with water? Well that's pretty much what this is only its about $7. PLEASE someone explain the hype of these Simple products?! I have tried 3 different products and been extremely disappointed with all of them. I do not have super sensitive skin so these might work more for that type of skin.
Maybe my bottle was just replaced with water before I bought it?;)

Claims: All-in-one skin care that gives 5 benefits: Hydrates, corrects wrinkles and imperfections, protects, evens and brightens skin tone.

Reality: Oh they seemed to have forgot to mention these benefits too, added greasiness, grossness and shiny face syndrome included for one low price! This made my face look like it was sopping wet covered in grease. Sick! The scent is pretty over powering if you are sensitive to scents.
I liked the color and how light this product is since I am not a big fan of foundation this is a good alternative. Possibly if you have dry skin this might work for you but as for us oily people stay clear!

Okay enough being dramatic..these just didn't work for me.

Have you tried any of these? Any better luck then me?

Body Butter

Feburary EmpTies

10:20 AM

check ya later empty products.....

Love doing empties posts, out with the old in with the new.

Body Shops Coconut Body Butter. Who hasn't purchased one of their body butters at least once before. In LOVE with this smell, reminds me of summer when I was a kind, sunscreen maybe but damn it smells good. As for moisturizing it's not my top pick. These suckers cost around $21, so only purchase these when they have good sales!

Would I repurchase? Possibly if they had a good sale, not for full price.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition is another one I have been suckered into buying quite a few times, usually is around $3 and really detangles my hair without weighing it down. Nothing special but if I am out of my healthy sexy hair then this will do.

Would I repurchase? Yeah I probably will

Lancome Hypnose Drama sample,L'oreal Voluminous Power Collagen and Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes, also sample mascaras.
I am a mascara obsessed maniac. I will buy more mascara looking for the one then one human needs in their life time. I have had the Lancome ones for seriously way too long. But I was kinda saving the tubes for an empties post. They were actually not too bad of products but still didn't beat my L'oreal Voluminous anything mascara.

Would I repurchase? The L'oreal yes! I am in love with most of their mascaras and they are the only ones that give me eyelashes.
Does anyone have recommendations for eyelashes in a tube?

Neurtrogena Acne Stress Control. I don't even know when I purchased this but it wasn't anything exciting, the microbeads are a bit too tiny for my likings. There is 2% salicylic acid in it so if your skin agrees with that then its alright.

Would I repurchase? Nahhhhh

Wen's Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner. Man this stuff is just strange when you are new to it. I watched the infomercial for about ummm 3 years before I committed to the ridiculous prices. This product can make your hair crazy soft and smell delicious if you use it correctly. If you don't then your hair is greasy and weighed right down. The theory of this product is great and I think it's perfect if you don't have a LOT of hair. The amount of product you use is unreal and you would go through more product then worth it.

Have you tried Wen? What did you think of it?

Would I repurchase? Possibly now since I cut off all my hair and this will be much easier to use then on my loooonnnggg hair before.

Well my empties posts aren't as exciting as some of yours out there but I can't afford all those high end shannagins that some of you have!

What is your last empty you had?

Random Empties

8:30 AM

Third time is a charm right? Why blogger needed to delete this post two other times is beyond me. So here we go again.

*L'OREAL ELNET Satin Hair Spray
Repurchase? Yes if it was on sale, I actually got this for $2.99 at Shoppers once and sometimes they are $12.99! I would not pay $12 for freakin hairspray.
*TRESEMME Heat Tamer Heat Protectant
Repurchase? Meh. If the price was right, I kinda swap heat protection products since they aren't too different to me from the other ones out there.
*MACADAMIA Deep Repair Masque
Repurchase? Hell yeah! LOVE this product!Helps repair my hair more then anything I have ever used.
*FRIZZ EASE Heat Defense Heat Protectant
Repurchase? nahhh I don't think it's worth the couple extra dollars then the Tresemme one.
*DR TEALS Epson Salt in Lavender
Repurchase? Yes, it smells sooo good!
*L'OREAL Sublime Bronzer
Repurchase? Yes, I do like to have a self tanner that is fool proof and washes off at the end of the day. Adds just enough extra color to my skin to not look like a total ghost.
*L'OREAL Voluminous Million Lashes
Repurchase? Yes, this mascara is one of my favorite drug store ones, but the brush can be a bit poky.

What were your latest empties?

Short & sweet by the third time...

Have a good weekend!!!!!!!!!!

CleanandClear

My HG Products Part 1

12:03 PM

I have been trying to figure out my most purchased/used products over the past year to see what my HG products are. Here are some of my favorite most used ones....

*CLEAN & CLEAR Makeup dissolving foaming cleanser. Think I have mentioned this much? Well I have tried quite a few drug store makeup removers and nothing removes my waterproof mascara like this. Although this company does test on animals I am still looking for a replacement and I rather use something that doesn't rip out all of my eye lashes. I have tried a few that didn't compare to this products ability to remove my stubborn mascara.
The reason why I think this is super convenient and works so well is because it is a foam, no need for the stupid cotton pads that just add more garbage and don't really get the product distributed all over for easy removal of waterproof mascara. I can apply the foam and let it just hang out for like 30 second to help break up the mascara and the rest is fairly easy to remove. Also NO oil! I HATE that gross feeling.
I am sure there are better makeup removers out there but I haven't found them yet!
Recommendations?

*ASANTI BrightenUp! Okay I wish I could say this was most purchased but it really isn't because of the price. I just can't justify spending so much money on high end products right now in my life, when I win the lotto sure =D
This is what i have received in my Glymm Box in January so it is new to me but HOLY CRAP I LOVE this stuff! I am super picky on facial scrubs that I never ever can find a drug store one that i actually like.
After using this my skin feels amazing, clean soft and non flaky! If you ever get the chance to use this I would for sure recommend it.

*L'OREAL VOLUMINOUS Waterproof.. I hear of love and hate thoughts on this product. I have been using this for as long as I can remember and no matter what I ALWAYS have one of these in my massive mascara obsession to find the best mascara. I find the waterproof formula to be more of what I am looking for since it holds my curl and doesn't rub off easily. The formula isn't too wet or dry but it dries fast enough in between coats to not be annoying. If you haven't tried this I would recommend it. Voluminous gives my lashes length and fullness.

*MAYBELLINE Super stay 24hr Concealer. Wow this stuff really stays on my skin! Fortunately I actually didn't even need to use concealer until this year when my skin just went nuts and now I have some slight scarring. This completely covers it up and doesn't budge. The color matching is really my only complaint. This is slightly off from my skin tone so that is kind of a piss off =/

MAKEUP FOREVER HD Powder. I actually really like this, it does give a mattifing finish so if you want dewy this isn't for you. This helps create an airbrushed matte finish, helps make skin look flawless! I don't think it does last super long and the shine will come through if you have oily skin within a few hours but does anything make anything perfect forever?
I do think Elf's version is very comparable so if you want a cheaper price tag you can try that one and get similar results.

Those are a couple products I know I have mentioned about 1000 times since I started blogging.

Have you tried any of these?

Batiste

December Empties!

1:00 AM

I CANNOT believe it is already December 20th! Needless to say I am very behind on reading blogs and writing posts.... it's just a little bit too busy for me right now but I promise I will catch up with all of your blogs.. AND if I don't talk to you guys before the weekend I hope you have a FREAKIN HAPPY XMAS! Enjoy time with friends, family and good food =D OR if you just are chillin out, enjoy! I sadly only get 1 extra day after xmas, the 26th off so it's nothing exciting.... Anyways on with the empties I have so far this month =D

*JOICO Color Endurance Shampoo- $25ish?Wow I have had this bad boy for honestly like 3 years! The only reason it was even fully used was because I MADE myself use it.
Would I repurchase? haha negative!!

*BATISTE Colored Dry Shampoo in Black-$5.99- This is my all time favorite ever! It is a must have always!!
Will I repurchase.. I freakin hope I can find the black again!!

*L'OREAL VOLUMINOUS MILLION LASHES.$6.99 Damn Damn DAMN You L'oreal. Piss me off. Love their products but they are not cruelty free. Still on the watch for a replacement... until then, possibly repurchase IF it is on a good sale.

*THE BODY SHOP SEAWEED Clarifying Toner-$12 ( I think it was 12-15 possibly) I LOVE the smell of this!! I didn't notice anything super crazy about my skin using it but then again I never do.
I would repurchase if there was a sale on it.

* HAPPY HIPPO Epsom Salt PearBerry (Xmas gift one year) I have had this for like 2 years as well, I always forget about it. It was Meh. Nothing exciting but it did smell nice.
Repurchase, nah

*BATISTE Dry Shampoo in Blush-$9.99 (Yes this was more pricey then the black dry shampoo, I found them at different stores) Surprise Surprise Taygan loves Dry shampoo, there's a new one for you ;)
Will I repurchase heck yes!

There is my empties for now, I need to go through some of my ridiculous amount of products and get using them up before I buy more...an on going problem haha.

What was your latest empty?

Cosmopolitan

More Crap I probably Didn't need

1:00 AM

Going into Shoppers Drug Mart when there are sales is just dangerous! I spent too much there as usual but I had to pick up a couple things for a friends birthday so I will blame part of that on her bday! ;)

I tried to limit what I picked up for myself since I really don't need any of this.....
Well Except the cosmo I NEEDED that =)

*Decembers Cosmo-I actually said who is the girl on the front, ops its Adele.
You always need good magazines so this is valid right?
*Lubriderm Advanced Moisture-On sale for $4.99
Dry winter itchy skin, Needed this right?
*Rimmel Vinyl Gloss-On Sale for $4.99
Okay yeah yeah I really didn't need another lip gloss to add to my ridiculous collection but it was on sale and the color is so pretty!
*L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes in Carbon Black- On Sale for $6.99 with Bonus Eyeliner.
Yes this is EVIL but I still haven't found a replacement... I thought I did but it was a false alarm =/
*Batiste Dry Shampoo Tropical- $9.99
I can't have greasy hair so I needed this too!

Here is a close up of this gloss, it is in "Take a Chance". Very pretty! As well I really liked the font they used for the name...no that's not why I bought it but I did like it!

Okay so some of this stuff I bought I kind of needed but probably not all of it =/ I did get some tooth paste and coffee cream too but I don't think we need pictures of those lol.

What was the last thing you bought that you didn't need?

100 Vegan

L'oreal Ever Pure Volume Shampoo Review

5:00 AM

L'oreal Ever Pure Sulfate-Free Color Care System
Volume Shampoo

Anti-Fade System
No Harsh Salts
Natural Bontaicals
I had bought this last month and decided to only go for the shampoo since I have enough conditioner kicking around. I paid $6.99 .
I was thinking this would be great since it is anti-fade and I color my hair all the time. I have fine hair so the volume part would be good (even though it never works!)
The smell is okay, it is Rosemary Juniper-No idea how to describe that one, it's different but I don't mind it and I think it just washes out when you rinse.

I enjoyed how this shampoo was a little creamy rather then the clear kind. I always feel like the cleansing shampoo's that are clear strip more gunk out of your hair then the creamy ones so they aren't as good for everyday use. This actually does suds up fairly decent for a sulfate free shampoo so that was nice. It just feels cleaner when you see suds.

This part surprised me the most, It is 100% Vegan. I am have not fully crossed over to the safe products that do not test against animals but I am trying to get there. I have always bought L'oreal products so I was very sad to hear they test on animals. But it does seem like they are attempting to change that. I found this from Peta.org, it made me feel a bit better and I like how you can write to L'oreal to let them know how we care about them using vegan/cruelty free products! You can do that Here if you like.

Now for the negatives, I did find that a lot of color was going down the drain with this shampoo, I didn't find it to be overly anti-fade proof at all. So I do switch this up with my Joico color safe shampoo.
There was no added volume-but I didn't expect that anyways.
Over all I do think this is a good shampoo, it is healthier for your hair with less chemicals and if it is 100%Vegan for the decent price I am sold.
Will I repurchase? Possibly if I don't find a good sale on salon brand shampoo.

Have you tried anything from their Ever Pure Line?

Bath And Body Works

AuGust EmpTies!

5:00 AM

Finally another empties post! I had an overload of products and I have been trying to use them up or give them away! Here are my empties =)

*Bath & Body Works Pineapple Orchid
*Bath &  Body Works Pineapple Mango
I absolutely love these candles, they make my house smell so nice!! I will for sure repurchase these again.

*Brittany Spears Midnight Fantasy
*Bath & Body Works Sweet Pea
I love both of these perfumes and have another bottle of each in my bathroom =)

*Dove Flexible Hold Hairspray
*L'oreal Studio Max Volumizing Mousse
The hairspray has a terrible scent in my opinion and will not repurchase this product as well the Mousse didn't do anything special for me so I probably would not repurchase this.

*L'oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara
* L'oreal Voluminous Original Mascara
These are my ultimate favorite mascara's but I know L'oreal is not an animal friendly so I am trying to find something else to replace this with =/

Those are my latest empties, What were yours?

Whats in My make up Travel Bag?

6:00 AM

These are always really interesting to read and I have always wanted to do one since I started blogging but I forgot to when I went to Vegas. My Trip was super mini but here is what I brought in my makeup bag:

I was in a hurry packing, last week was too busy for my likings so this is what I threw together. (I forgot my blush/bronzer brush hah)

*My Urban Decay Naked Palette of course
*Benefit's High Beam
*Urban Decay Primer Potion
*ELF Lip Gloss in Trend Setter (My new fav)
*L'oreal Million Lashes
*Cover Girl Classic Clean Pressed Powder
*Hard Candy's Fox In a Box
*Prestige Eye Liner in brown (My HG Eye Liner)

What is an item that you will never travel without?

My Sumer Must Haves

6:25 AM

This is probably really late for summer but honestly this is like the first REAL weekend of summer that I've had this year, how strange considering the summer is almost over =/

But here are some of my must haves for summer :

I am more of the lip gloss&Mascara kind of girl. I ALWAYS have both of those on 90% of the time. I do use a powder most of the time but once in a while I will use foundation. When it is actually summer and my skin isn't hating me I will just use Cover Girl's basic powder so there isn't too much exciting going on in the picture for some of you but this is what I stick with..

*Batiste Dry Shampoo in Black
*Nivea Essientail Care
* Johnson & Johnson Baby Lotion-It smells amazing!!!
*Chi Silk Infusion
*L'oreal Voluminous Water Proof Mascara
*Aussie 3 Minute Miracle deep conditioner
*Cover Girl Clean Pressed Powder
*Escada- Marine Grove
*Annabelle Bronzer
*Neutrogena Utlra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen. Uva/uvb protection
*Aloe Vera Gel just in case I get lobster like =/

What are your top 3 must haves for summer? ( I might be missing out on something!)

Winners & Walmart Good Crap I got =)

10:45 AM

If you follow me on twitter you might have seen me talking about good crap that you buy at Walmart or Target or where ever you might find it =) Here is what I got at Winners yesterday...

My FIRST ELF THINGS EVER!!!!!!!! I am currently waiting for some Elf goodies in the mail from my lovely blogger friend but when I saw this at Winners I had to buy it! So forgive me if there is any similar in the package you are sending me.. I will use it i promise =)

Elf Summer Ready Best Sellers Collection:

*Eyelash Curler
*Lengthening & Defining Mascara
*Liquid EyeLiner
*Eye Shadow Trio -no color names =(

I found this at Winners and I honestly have yet to find an Elf product anywhere near where I live in Canada.. I didn't even think it was sold in Canada. The selection was small there, just kind of sets like this and their eye shadow books. So this was $9.99 and I am so curious if any of you American  bloggers or readers have purchased this or seen the price of this?

Next:

Everything here is from Walmart except the Joico and Batiste Dry Shampoo.
The Joico was purchased at Winners and I got the K-PaK Reconstructive conditioner just like the one from my other post and honestly these suckers are regularly like $42  or higher at some salons so when I saw this I had to have it. It is a Liter and will last me such a long time. Now the best part about all of this is that it was $19.99! I was stoked so I had to buy it.. then no more hair products for a while =) I am set!
I finally found my Batiste Colored Dry Shampoo in Black. This is usually around $9.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart and at Winners it was $5.99 so I bought 2.

These were purchased at Walmart:

*L'OREAL Ever Pure -Sulfate Free,no harsh salts,Natural Botanicals-It sounds good so hopefully it will be kind to my hair =)This was a little pricey $9
*Next is the usual Clean&Clear makeup dissolving cleansing wipes. I had a $3 off coupon and this was just under $6 so I paid 3 dollars for it =)
*Montagne Jeunesse Mask Apricot Mango scrub - $2
*L'OREAL Total  Repair Night-This ranges anywhere from $4-$7 but it was on for $3.96 and I had a $2 off coupon so it was super cheap!

And my last picture is from my very bestest friend Shari =)
She recently went to the states and she knows what a gumaholic I am and that I love to try every single kind ever!! So she was kind and bought me a few we don't have in Canada.. or not at least where I am living. Thank you =) =)

*Extra Dessert Delights gum-Key Lime Pie Yummy!
*Extra Desserts Delights Gum-Strawberry Shortcake YUMMMM
*Extra Fruit Sensations- Sweet Tropical my FAV!!

Since I have had a couple days off this week and I think I am shopping WAY too much for my bank account =/ so I need to slow down soon on that =(

Have you tried any of these products? What was the last thing you bought that you didn't overly need?
