I have been such a fan of the monthly subscription packages for a good year and a half I would say but lately I don't think they have been meeting the mark.
I have had some very unexciting Glymm bags for um I think I would say about 8 months but I for some reason haven't cancelled the damn thing. Need to put that on my to do list.
I had a credit card number stolen this year and that was attached to my Glymm account so when I logged into my account to change the billing information with my new card there wasn't even an option to put the new credit card information in my account, ridiculous. So I emailed them and explained the issue and to make sure to not cancel the following month's box since I just was switching the card number... When they finally replied a week later they had mentioned they needed my account number, password, credit card information, address and blood type! I was like WHAT do you need my blood type for?! just kidding they didn't ask for my blood type but jeezus they mays well have.
I told them I was extremely uncomfortable emailing all that information to them blahh blahh blahh they replied saying my next month wouldn't be sent out due to late payment (which technically was their fault) and completely ignored everything else I had stated in the email. $15 for TEENY tiny little samples, no thanks.
On the other hand I have always been pretty much super happy with Topbox's samples and customer service. They always seemed to throw in more then 4 or 5 items and everything was always pretty awesome.
This is a bit of a strange post I suppose since I have no freaking clue what junk I received in my Glymm box for February which I JUST got like a week ago but here is what I got in my Topbox for March 2013.
such a bad picture I know! There is no daylight ever lately =( |
* L'OREAL PROFESSIONNEL Mythic Oil
*MASKERAIDE Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask
*VERA WANG Lovestruck
*AVEDA Caribbean Therapy Body Cream
I am super excited for the Aveda body cream, it smells delicious and I HEART Aveda products!
The mask sounds really nice too.....
What have you been loving or hating this month?

DeleteAhh that describes me perfectly, I will check it out!
I gave up on a few subscription boxes. Seemed like they were getting cheaper and cheaper. The only ones I am obsessed with right now are the ipsy bags and julep maven. They both continue to make me happy :)
ReplyDeleteOH yeah I do remember a few of your boxes being cheap sometimes but they are fun to try.... Julep Maven def has great colors!!
DeleteAw I know, they have a way of trying to always keep their customers! I remember when I tried cancelling with Julep... you can't cancel by email, you have to do so by PHONE! WTF! Who has time for that? Stupid silly people!
ReplyDeleteI never realized AVEDA had skincare products LOL? Always thought it was only hair ahah!
omg I know that was so fricken annoying!! I can't justify $20 for a couple nail polishes from them even thought they do have great colors.
Deletehaha yeah they do have quite a few body products and makeup too! I would use all their products if i was rich, they just smell so good to me for some reason.
I never tried subscription boxes, I think I might but I am not expecting miracles... I am curious about the Mythic Oil though, I hope you like it cuz I've heard many good things about it! <3
ReplyDeleteI am running an international giveaway on my blog now, I'd love it if you enter! :)

oh you haven't? If you find one you like through reading blogs you should really try one! I hope so too, I havent even tried it yet but i think i will this weekend =)
Deleteyes of course!
I always wanted to try subscription boxes, but I usually get stuck with the products I like and it's hard for me to start using something new. i'm really conservative in this area, haha :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good thing because you save money and have good staples :)
DeleteBlood type?!? I could come up with a few bizarre explanations, but since most of them involve words like sample, leech, hospital and vampire, I'm keeping them to myself.
ReplyDeleteMy Beauty Junction
Hahah I was kidding about the blood type.. Thanks for reading that.
DeleteLol.. Thanks for reading my post:)
Hi Taygan!! It's nice to see that you're blogging again :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any monthly subscription parcels. I think it's because there's so many products I use that are staples which I have become loyal to - so I usually don't try new products unless they are highly raved about. But I can see the novelty in monthly subscription parcels - it's nice to have surprises and try new things coming out on the market.
Aveda products have been a hit or miss for me. I'm glad you liked the body cream.
How was the L'oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil? I love all the L'oreal Professionnel line of hair products I have tried.
Hi karen!!:) I am shocked you haven't tried one yet but when you have your major loves your don't need to try new things and you have a good selection I bet:) I've only used the oil twice and so far so Good, nothing amazing yet thanks for stopping by my bog:):)
